● You pay up front, and I do not bill insurance directly. If your plan covers nutrition counseling, I will help you put together a superbill to send in for reimbursement. It is worth calling your insurer first to ask.

In your own words
Questions you are actually asking.
Do I need a referral, or is this covered?
You do not need a referral. Payment is up front and I do not bill insurance directly, but I will provide a superbill you can send to your plan. Ask your insurer whether nutrition counseling is covered before your first appointment.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. You can book an in-person session at the Roanoke CoLab in Grandin Village, or a telehealth appointment. I am based in Virginia, so if you live outside Virginia, please mention it on the intro call.
What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) has a degree in nutrition, supervised clinical training, a national exam and ongoing education requirements. "Nutritionist" on its own is not regulated the same way, so the training behind it varies.
I was just diagnosed with celiac disease. Should I see a dietitian?
Yes, ideally soon after diagnosis. Going fully gluten free means learning to read labels and avoiding cross-contact at home and when eating out. Celiac care is my specialty, for adults and children.
Can my spouse or children be involved in my care?
Yes. The kitchen is a shared space, so your individual plan is built with your household in mind. I also work with children and teens directly, including pediatric celiac disease, food allergies and intolerances.
Is this another restrictive diet?
No. My counseling focuses on education and balanced, evidence-based nutrition, not restriction.
I go to the bathroom too often. Can you help?
Yes. I start with a thorough review of your medical history, medications, past procedures and eating habits. Together, we identify likely triggers and work toward a lasting solution.
